Smalley products can be found in a variety of common items that people use every day. Smalley’s wave springs and Spirolox retaining rings are found in many consumer products including small kitchen appliances, wearable electronics, bicycles and many more.
These parts play a small, yet crucial role in the overall functionality and longevity of the end-product it’s a part of. Smalley rings and springs have superior performance as well as a great look, with hundreds of material offerings and coatings.
Vertical integration allows us to stock standard parts in thousands of sizes, deliver them to align with your production runs, and even develop custom packaging to speed up your manufacturing time. With retaining rings and wave springs as small as .118" (3 mm), and as large as 120" (3000 mm) Smalley has products to fill any of your needs. If a standard part doesn’t meet your specifications, Smalley engineers can work with you to create custom wave springs and retaining rings, a benefit that’s imperative to an industry with a wide variety of applications and needs.
Smalley has established, and is continuously improving upon, a program that is designed to meet the following objectives:
The consumer industry has been focused on technology and innovation for some time. A specific focus of this market is wearable electronics. Smalley’s small parts can be found in these compact mechanisms. Our custom parts can be manufactured as small as .118” OD.
A number of bicycle shocks also utilize Smalley wave springs in their assembly. Using a wave spring inside a shock directly absorbs more friction than standard bike shocks. The spring balances the back pressure from the internal piston which allows for the shocks to greatly reduce the initial breakaway force. Resulting in a sturdier ride when traveling at higher speeds and changing elevations.
